Room for everyone you love, and everything about them.

A tour of what's inside Orbit, from the web of your people to the widget on your Home Screen.

Your orbit

You're pinned at the centre, and the people in your life form a web around you, joined by how they know each other. Pan and pinch to explore, search to jump to someone, or drag a moon to pin it where you like.

  • Tap a moon for their relationship, next birthday and connections
  • Link people as partners, parents, siblings, friends or colleagues
  • Bring people in from Contacts: just names, nicknames and birthdays
  • On iPad, your orbit and their page sit side by side

A page for every person

A photo, their birthday (with or without the year), how you know them, and everything you'd want to remember.

Notes

Bold, italics and links. Pin the important ones to the top.

Private: hidden behind Face ID

Gifts

The link, the price, the occasion, and the size or colour.

Dates

Anniversaries, moves, big days. One-off or every year, with up to three reminders each.

Places

Where they've been, where they're going and where they live. Search with Apple Maps, or just type a name.

Family

Partners, kids, parents and siblings. Add a name-only family member without crowding your orbit.

Tags

Up to 20 per person, like book club or uni friends.

Reminders and check-ins

Birthday reminders are on from the start: 9am on the day and a week before, or whenever suits you. They're scheduled on your iPhone, and notifications keep names hidden unless you choose to show them.

Set how often you'd like to catch up with someone, from every two weeks to every six months. Tap "We caught up" when you do. With Pro, Orbit can send a gentle Sunday nudge.

The next birthdays in your orbit, on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Show names and dates, dates only, or hide it.

Pro

Meet Opal. It knows your people, not their names.

Ask for gift ideas, things to ask someone, or help planning something together. Before anything leaves your iPhone, names are swapped for labels like "Person A". Private notes, photos, links and addresses are never sent.

It's off until you turn it on. You can keep anyone out of it, review each question before it's sent, and see what was shared afterwards.

How Opal handles your data →

Privacy and security

Everything in Orbit is stored encrypted on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud sync, it's end-to-end encrypted before it leaves, so only your devices can read it: not Apple, and not us.

Encrypted on device

Your whole Orbit database is encrypted, with its key kept in your iPhone's Keychain.

End-to-end encrypted sync

Optional and off until you turn it on. It's in your iCloud, not on our servers.

App Lock

Require Face ID or your passcode, and hide Orbit in the app switcher. Reminders and widgets keep working.

Photos, cleaned

Location and other metadata are stripped, and each photo is encrypted. The original in your library isn't touched.

No Contacts permission

You pick who to import. Orbit copies their name, nickname and birthday, and nothing else.

Your data, your call

Export everything as a zip, erase Orbit from a device, or delete your account in the app.

Keep everyone close.
